We are currently running Exchange 2010 SP2 in cached exchange mode. The client is running Windows7 SP1 32bit, Office Standard 2010.
The problem occurs when the client loses connection to the exchange server, the user sends an email and it is stored in the outbox ready for reconnection to exchange.
If outlook crashes and closes unexpectedly for any reason, when the user reopens outlook the outbox is empty but the emails have not been sent and are not visible in any folders in outlook.
This has been reported to our internal IT helpdesk by staff on at least 3 seperate occassions, we have many other anecdotal reports.
Reading through forums on the web it seems we are not the onlu users to have experience this
