We have autodiscovery working for internal Outlook users on our domain. A new user logged in to their PC with their domain user account can just open up Outlook when on the company LAN, click next, next, next and it will discover their mailbox and configure Outlook to access it without the user needing to know their mail server name.
We have a OWA site at mail.companyname.com and the users can access it from the Internet on their phones, but would rather use their phone's mail client.
When users setup their smartphones to access Exchange ActiveSync, autodiscovery doesn't work or was never set up. They must manually type in the mail server name (which is also mail.companyname.com) along with their domain user name and password.
We would like to get this functionality working now so users of smartphones and tablets will be able to just type in their email address and password while using any available internet connection and have it autodiscover their EAS settings and configure it for them.
From this point, what additional steps are required to turn on autodiscovery for EAS?
