Hi all,
we have 2 trusted domains. In both there is a Stand-Alone Exchange 2010 running. Also theres a federal trust set up between the 2 Exchange servers for free/busy-times etc.
Now, as several users from Domain A are login in in Domain B and vice versa, we experience the following problem:
A user from Domain A logs in in a PC in Domain B, When starting Outlook, the client tries to connect to the A-Exchange (his "home"-Server) the connect fails. Outlook hangs. When you check the eMail-Account-Settings, the account is made and the correct server is listed. But this does not work until you change the server-address to it´s IP instead of the FQDN.
BUT: DNS resolution on the FQDN IS working and the server is reachable. (double checked this !), also the "autodiscover.internal-domain.com" is listed in dns and works
Does anyone have an idea, what exactly the outlook-client checks when starting and how it connects to the exchange-server and what might cause this behaviour or where to put my fingers on ?
Kind regards, have a nice weekend and enjoy the x-mas holidays.
