Forcing Pre-existing mail accounts to begin using new cas array

I have 3 cas servers, and 3 mailbox servers at this time - unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, things were done in our exchange environment, that appear to be against Microsoft's recommendation - the cas array.  The cas array was a late addition - today in fact! So, we have about 125 mailboxes moved of about 3000, so the overall affect isn't on a "grand" scale, but annoying none the less.  I understand that these 125 outlook profiles, won't automatically update to the cas array so long as the cas server they are accessing is resolvable. My question is this - can I rename the cas servers  from say HIT-CAS1, to HIT-CASMBR1, thus making HIT-CAS1, no longer "real" in DNS, and forcing the client to look up the new array?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much!

Kevin
