Just wondering how you guys cope with this bug introduced in SP2 rollup 3? MS tell people who log support calls that it is a known issue, but there has been no hotfix as of yet that fixes it.
When you move mailboxes between databases it sits for a few minutes trying 5 times to perform some sort of cleanup task and the move may be marked as completed with warnings or completed but either way this adds a few minutes per move. When looking at 3000 mailboxes, having a 3 minute wait for each mailbox as a task tries 5 times every 30 seconds at the end of the move (regardless of mailbox size as it happens in a lab too) then this adds 9000 minutes to the task which is 150 hours or almost 4 normal working weeks.
A workaround by people is suggested as modifying the transport file to try once instead of 5 times - is this the only way? Will this figure need to be put back to normal following the fix for this?
