I need some advice as to the best course of action in replacing an Exchange 2007 server. We currently have an SBS2003 server running Exchange 2003 and a Windows 2008 server with Exchange 2007. The main exchange server is the 2007 build. I am in the process of decommissioning the SBS2003 server and the machine hosting exchange 2007 in favour of server 2012. To add to this we have Office 365 to manage our email in a federated hybrid mode. So when a new member starts we create an email account and then migrate to the cloud etc.
I want to install Exchange 2007 on the Windows 2012 server and then once the other Exchange servers are down upgrade it to 2010 and then 2013, is this the best way or can I just install Exchange 2010 SP2/3 in the current environment ?
Some guidance would be greatly appreciated..
