Not a frequent visitor, but need advice. Spent 8 months building new 2K8(R2) Domain, with Exchange 2010 Ent, in Split DNS, Autodiscover works beautiful, OWA, EWS work great, its a small-medium business with single CAS/Hub deployment. In the
middle of Migrating and the Marketing group decided to go off and do their thing.... came back after a study and decided to change their name ... again... so now I'm in the Server getting ready to go back to masquerade for the new namespace. I
researched the creation of a new Virtual Direcory, so I can have Autodiscover work the same way for the new email domain, but I ran in the help file inside exchange that said I can have multiple virtual directories on a CAS, but the help said I
can only have one EWS deployment per CAS Server. I am ok with the Accepted Domain setup, I'm Ok with the SAN Certificate and I can add the required name to the SAN Cert, I am ready to install the Virtual Directory. I read the technet
article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124811 and the third bullet started me thinking. So I looked on the internet for
http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2010/mobility-client-access/using-autodiscover-large-numbers-accepted-domains-part1.html and Steve has a thorough outline on how to get around the Autodiscovery, but I'm just not confident
to proceed. I can accept mail for multiple domains, thats not a problem, it's changing the current Primary to the new name, and then having to deal with the SPF, Autodiscovery, OWA, and EWS on the same CAS Server when
my DNS is already in SPLIT and Working. Any advice appreciated. I am debating on configuring on spinning up another VM and adding Site and moving a CAS in there for masquerading the new name and keeping the internal domain the same.
I still need to take mail for the old namespace when I throw the switch for the new... Thanks All
