Current environment:
2 physical mailbox servers - around 8000 users on 20 db's and 2 public folder db's.
mbx01.abc.com
mbx02.abc.com
1 virtual Hub server = hub01.abc.com
1 virtual Cas server = CAS01.abc.com
I'd like to add resilience to the current environment with minimal downtime.
what I am planning on doing is;
i)Install a new VM
ii) create a VIP DNS entry for WNLB = casarray.abc.com (currently clients are pointed tocas01.abc.com)
iii) Enable WNLB
iv) install cas/hub server roles to it
v)create a cas array
vi) add the both new/old cas servers to array
vii) point everything to the dns vip entry i.e. casarray.abc.com
Get-MailboxDatabase | Set-MailboxDatabase -RPCClientAccessServer “casarray.abc.com”
viii) check the client access?
Just wondering if an MS expert could take a look at this plan and give some recommendations?
Cheers
Sid
