If we have a trust between organizations, and all DNS checks for autodiscover and such takes an internal path, and resolves properly, does Federation still take an external path for any reason? The TXT records are there and correct even if so. When I check with Get-FederationInformation, everything resolves successfully, but the free-busy will still not display. If you test-federationtrust with a local user identity, it is all green lights. It would be nice to isolate specific Federation communication attempts with a log on the Exchange systems in a manner like smtp is logged.. is that possible? Actually it's only a problem from one side, but so far it's not clear as to why. There are no custom policies that would block the free-busy, as we just use the default sharing policy.
