We have an 8 node DAG, spread between two datacenters accross a WAN with 5 DAG nodes in Primary site and 3 in DR site. We use a FSW on one of the HTS in the primary datacenter, and an alternate FSW in the secondary datacenter. All active DAG mailbox databases run in the Primary site with 2 local copies (one of which is the active one), and there is third copy in the DR Site.
We would be having Firewall outage for 2-3 hours on Primary site, on our Primary site we got following components.
5 MBX Server (DAG)
3 CAS Servers ( Array)
6 HT Server
3 DC's (All FSMO Roles)
We got following components on DR Site..
3 MBX Server (DAG - part of same DAG)
2 CAS Servers ( Array - Separate Array)
3 HT Server
2 DC's
Since it would be only few hours outage I don't want to perform full DR and make DR site as Primary before the outage....
Also don't want to loose any mails too...I am sure mails would flow to DR site MX record and they will stay in Hub queue on DR site....
I would appreciate if I could get ideas for about strategy here keep in mind outage is only for few hours only....and all the systems would be up and runnning on Primary site...they wont be down....
